Assessment Description
Every great journey begins with a clear map. The Discovery Assessment is a 45-minute, 1-on-1 session designed to give you an expert snapshot of your child’s current abilities in English, Maths, and Science. Rather than a high-stakes "test," I use a story-led, creative approach to see how your child applies their knowledge in real-world scenarios. What we explore during the session: English & Literacy: We’ll dive into a creative writing prompt to review sentence structure, spelling phonics, and vocabulary choice. Maths & Logic: Through "Mission-based" puzzles, I assess number fluency, place value, and problem-solving reasoning. Science: We’ll look at logical observation and scientific curiosity through "What If?" scenarios. What you receive afterward: Following our session, you will receive a Detailed Capability Review. This professional report identifies exactly where your child is excelling and pinpoints specific National Curriculum gaps. Whether you use this report to guide your own Home Education planning or as a baseline before joining one of our 6-week bundles like The Narrative Architect, you’ll leave with the clarity you need to support your child's next big academic leap. Cancellation Policy
1. Booking & Payment Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your time slot. All fees are non-refundable once the assessment session has commenced. 2. Rescheduling & Cancellations We understand that life happens! You may reschedule your session up to 24 hours before the start time at no extra cost. Cancellations or "no-shows" with less than 24 hours' notice will forfeit the session fee. 3. The Session Environment To ensure an accurate review, please ensure your child is in a quiet space with a stable internet connection. While parents are welcome to help with technical setup, we request that the child completes the tasks independently so we can identify true curriculum gaps. 4. The Discovery Report The post-session report is a professional summary of current abilities and identified gaps based on the National Curriculum. This report will be delivered via email within 48 hours of the session. 5. Safeguarding & Privacy All sessions are conducted via a secure link. As a primary education professional, I hold a valid enhanced DBS check. Any data collected during the intake form or session is stored securely and will not be shared with third parties, in accordance with UK GDPR. 6. Non-Diagnostic Disclaimer The Discovery Assessment is an academic review designed to inform educational planning. It is not a formal medical or psychological diagnosis for SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
