Assessment Description

Building Stories. Bridging Gaps. Creating Authors. The Narrative Architect is our flagship 6-week adventure, designed to transform young writers into confident storytellers. This isn't a "one-size-fits-all" course. Using the data from your child’s Discovery Assessment, I adapt the curriculum focus of every session to target their specific learning gaps—whether that’s mastering complex punctuation, expanding vocabulary, or building narrative stamina. How the Adventure Unfolds: Week 1: The Character Blueprint We begin by breathing life into a protagonist. Adventure: Designing a hero for the Secret Studio. Tailored Focus: From expanded noun phrases (Y2) to complex character arcs and internal monologues (Y6). Week 2: The Portal & Setting World-building through sensory detail. Adventure: Crossing the threshold into a new world. Tailored Focus: Using prepositions, fronted adverbials, and "show-don't-tell" techniques to ground the reader. Week 3: Dialogue & Connection Giving characters a voice. Adventure: Meeting a mysterious guide or ally. Tailored Focus: Mastering inverted commas and using dialogue to move the plot forward without "over-reporting" action. Week 4: The Rising Storm (Conflict) Building tension and managing pace. Adventure: Navigating the story's main obstacle. Tailored Focus: Sentence variety, varying paragraph lengths for effect, and using conjunctions to build suspense. Week 5: The Climax & Resolution Learning how to land the story safely. Adventure: Solving the mystery or defeating the challenge. Tailored Focus: Consistent use of tense and cohesive devices to ensure a logical flow. Week 6: The Author's Reveal Editing, proofing, and "publishing." Adventure: The final polish of their masterpiece. Tailored Focus: High-level editing skills—reviewing punctuation, spelling, and grammar to ensure their work is ready for the world. What is Included? 6 Live Weekly Workshops: Specialist small-group or 1-on-1 teaching. Physical Welcome Box: A curated kit of "Author’s Tools" (journal, pen, mission map and more) sent to your door. The Digital Vault: 24/7 access to our Member Area containing weekly mission files, resource downloads, and video guides. Assessment-Led Teaching: Every lesson plan is tweaked to ensure we are "plugging" the National Curriculum gaps identified in your child's initial audit. The Result: A child who doesn't just know how to write but loves to write.

Cancellation Policy

1. Enrollment & Materials By enrolling, you secure a place for one child in the specified 6-week cohort. The Physical Welcome Box will be dispatched to the address provided during booking within 3–5 working days. Please ensure your postal details are correct; lost items due to incorrect addresses may incur a replacement fee. 2. Payment & Refunds Full payment is required to secure the seat and initiate the shipment of physical materials. Cancellations: A full refund (minus a £15 administration and materials fee) is available if you cancel at least 7 days before the first session. Late Cancellations: No refunds are available once the program has started or within 7 days of the start date, as your place cannot be easily filled and materials have already been dispatched. 3. Attendance & Recordings Our sessions are live and interactive. If a child misses a session: They can still access that week's resources via the Online Member Vault. Depending on safeguarding permissions for that specific cohort, a recording may be available upon request, but this is not guaranteed for every session. 4. Digital Access & Intellectual Property Upon payment, you are granted access to the Writers Classroom Online Program. This access is for one household only. All resources, worksheets, and videos are the intellectual property of The Writers Classroom and may not be shared, resold, or redistributed. 5. Technical Requirements Parents are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection and access to Zoom/Teams. Technical issues on the participant's side do not qualify for a refund or a "makeup" session. 6. Code of Conduct To keep the Studio a safe space for all young authors, we expect respectful behavior during live calls. We reserve the right to remove a student from the program (without refund) if their behavior is consistently disruptive to the learning of others. 7. Safeguarding All sessions are lead by a DBS-checked professional. To comply with safeguarding standards, we request that students join from a communal area of the home (e.g., dining room/lounge) and that parents are nearby if the child needs technical assistance.
